"A
ball valve is a form of quarter-turn valve which uses a hollow, perforated and pivoting ball to control flow through it.” The
ball valve is used in the pipeline to cut, distribute and change the flow direction of the medium. Why does
ball valve become so
popular in
valve industry? Let's figure out.
1. Small fluid resistance.
The
ball valve is the one with the smallest fluid resistance in all kinds of valves. Even the reduced-diameter
ball valve has a relatively small fluid resistance.
2. Quick and easy switch.
It only needs to rotate the stem 90 degrees, the
ball valve open or close completely. It is easy to operate and takes no extra effort.
3. Excellent sealing performance of the valve seat.
The sealing ring of most
ball valves is made of elastic materials such as PTFE. The soft sealing material ensures it is easy to unseal. Besides that, the sealing force of the
ball valve increases with the rise of the medium pressure.
4. Remarkable stem seal.
When open or close the
ball valve, the valve stem rotates rather than moving up and down, which brings less damage to the packing of the stem.
5. Because of the self-lubricating and other properties of PTFE and other similar materials, the friction loss against the ball is small. The
ball valve, finally, enjoys a relatively long service life.
6. It can be driven by pneumatic, electric, night drive and other driving mechanisms to complete remote control and automatic operation.
7. The channel of the valve body is so smooth that it is able to transport viscous fluid, slurry and solid particles.
8. It is easy to install. It can be installed in any position in the pipeline at any direction.
