Causes of Valve Failure

Causes of Valve Failure

Causes of valve failure in general:
1. The packing gland is not compressed.
2. The packing fails due to overuse or improper preservation.

Fault elimination method:
1. Tighten the nuts evenly and press the packing tightly.
2. Replace the packing.

Analysis of the causes of valve failure case by case:
Problem 1: Leakage between sealing surfaces
Causes of valve failure:
1. dirt and debris are attached to the sealing surface.
2. The sealing surface is damaged.

Fault elimination method:
1. clean up the dirt and sundries.
2. Re-machining, trimming or replacing

Problem 2: Leakage at the joint between valve body and bonnet
Causes of valve failure:
1. Uneven fastening of connecting bolts
2. The flange sealing surface is damaged.
3. Gasket rupture or failure.

Fault elimination method:
1. Tighten evenly.
2. Refinishing
3. Replace the new gasket.

Problem 3: The handwheel is inflexible or the disc cannot be opened and closed
Causes of valve failure:
1. the packing is pressed too tightly.
2. Packing pressing plate and sleeve pressing device are skewed.
3. The stem nut is damaged.
4. The thread of the valve stem nut is seriously worn or broken.
5. Bending of valve stem

Fault elimination method:
1. Loosen the nut on the packing press plate properly.
2. Correct the packing press plate.
3. Disassemble and trim threads and remove dirt and sundries.
4. Replace the valve stem nut.

Cause of failure of solenoid valve:

1. If the power supply wiring is normal or not, rewire or retry the connection of the connector. The gas solenoid valve prevents the plug from loosening. If the power supply wiring is not firm, it will cause the electric valve to stop working.

2. Check the power supply voltage to confirm whether it is within the allowable positive and negative working range, and adjust it in time if there is any change.

3. Check the coil, mainly pay attention to whether there is desoldering, and if so, re-weld it.

4. Check the coil for short circuit. Once the high temperature solenoid valve appears, the coil must be replaced.

5. Observe the working pressure difference. If the pressure difference is too large, immediately adjust the pressure difference until the symmetrical electric valve product is replaced.

6. Observe the fluid temperature. If the temperature is too high, please replace the corresponding electric valve in time.

7. Check the main valve core and moving iron core of the electric valve. Check whether there is jamming in the magnetic column level gauge. If there is any, clean it. If the seal is damaged, replace and install the filter immediately, because there is the possibility of impurity deposition.

8. Check whether the product is aging, fluid viscosity is high, frequency is too high, etc. In this case, it is recommended to replace the product.

There are many kinds of electric valves, but when the above problems occur, the above methods can be followed. Meanwhile, the electric actuators should be self-examined in sequence, which should eliminate most of the faults. If they can't be solved, you can turn to professionals in relevant fields for help.
