Requirements & Materials of Resilient Seated Gate Valves

The opening and closing part of the resilient seated gate valve is a wedge, and the movement direction of the wedge is perpendicular to the direction of the fluid. The gate valve can only be fully opened and fully closed, and cannot be adjusted or throttled.



General requirements for resilient seated gate valves
1. The specifications and categories of resilient seated gate valves should meet the requirements of the pipeline design documents.
2. The manufacturing standards of resilient seated gate valves should state the corresponding standards on which they are based.
3. The working pressure of resilient seated gate valves must be greater than or equal to the working pressure of the pipeline. Under the premise of not affecting the price, the pressure that the valve can withstand should be greater than the actual working pressure of the pipeline. When the resilient seated gate valve is closed, any side should be able to withstand 1.1 times the working pressure of the valve without leakage; when the valve is open, the valve body should be able to withstand the requirements of twice the working pressure of the valve.

Materials for resilient seated gate valves
1. Materials for valve bodies: resilient seated gate valve bodies are mainly made from ductile iron, cast steel, and stainless steel. Indicate the grade and the actual physical and chemical test data of the cast iron.
2. Materials for valve stems: stainless steel is used according to the customer.
3. Materials for nuts: cast aluminum brass or cast aluminum bronze is used for nuts, which have better hardness and strength than those of the valve stem.
4. Materials for Valve stem bushings: their hardness and strength should not be greater than those of the valve stem, and they should not form electrochemical corrosion with the valve stem and valve body under water immersion.
5. Materials for sealing surfaces
① There are different requirements for sealing and materials for different types of resilient seated gate valves.
② For ordinary wedge gate valves, the material, fixing method and grinding method of the copper ring shall be specified.
③ For resilient seated gate valves, the physical, chemical and hygienic testing data of the rubber lining materials of the valve plate should meet the relevant requirements.
