Selection Principles and Advantages of Forged Steel Globe Valves
The open or close stroke of the forged steel globe valve stem is relatively short, and it has a reliable cut-off function. Therefore, this type of forged globe valve is suitable for cutting off, regulating and throttling.
The Selection Principles of Forged Steel Globe Valves
- Pipelines or devices with high-temperature and high-pressure media, such as thermal power plants, nuclear power plants and petrochemical systems
- Pipelines with low requirement for flow resistance, less consideration of pressure loss
- Pipelines with requirements for flow or pressure regulation, but low regulation accuracy and small diameters
- Pipe with smaller nominal diameters, such as water supply and heat supply projects in urban construction
Advantages of Forged Steel Globe Valves
- During opening and closing, the friction between the valve disc and the sealing surface of the valve body is relatively small.
- The opening height is generally 1/4 of the valve seat channel diameter, which is much smaller than that of gate valves.
- There is usually only one sealing surface on the valve body and disc, which is convenient for maintenance.
- Choose different materials for different media.
Installation of Forged Steel Globe Valves
- The installation position, height, inlet and outlet direction must meet the design requirements, and the connection should be firm and tight.
- The handle of various manual valves installed on the insulation pipeline should not be downward.
- Visual inspection must be carried out before installation of valves. For valves with working pressure greater than 1.0 MPa and a cut-off effect on the main pipe, strength and tightness tests should be carried out before installation; they can be used only after they are qualified.
- The stem axis of the globe valve is perpendicular to the sealing surface of the valve seat.
