What are the inlet and outlet directions of ball valves? After the ball valve is installed on the pipe, which side is the inlet end and which side is the outlet? Do ball valves have a flow direction? Should we consider the direction when installing?
Recently Dervos has collected some questions about the correct way to install ball valves. Please go with us.
1. Unidirectional sealed ball valves have the right installing direction, while bidirectional sealed ball valves don't.
2. O-type ball valves have no direction requirement; while V-type ball valve has.
3. High-temperature ball valves have the right installing direction.
4. Floating ball valves are bidirectionally sealed so that they can be installed without extra focus on the direction. But the trunnion-mounted type ball valve is unidirectionally sealed and has the right installing direction.

Q: How do you distinguish the ball valve unidirectional-sealed or bidirectional-sealed?
A: It is difficult to distinguish from appearance. It depends on the internal structure of the ball.
Q: How do you distinguish whether the ball valve is floating or trunnion-mounted.
A: You can distinguish from the appearance. The floating ball valve's body is divided into two parts, with a flange connection in the middle. The trunnion-mounted ball valve's body is of one piece.
Pay attention: Practical working conditions always come first. Choose ball valves in accordance with the real requirements. If you need specific stalling direction, pick valves with clear marks, otherwise, pick ordinary bidirectional-sealed ball valves.
