The Difference between Ball Valve and Butterfly Valve
Now,
ball valves and
butterfly valves are commonly used in our lives. Under normal circumstances, these two valves can be used interchangeably, but only one can be used under special circumstances. Next, we will introduce the differences between them.
There are many differences between them, the most important of which is the difference in structure and switch.
Ball valves are mainly developed from plug valves. The main starting and closing parts of ball valves are spheres. Generally, the opening and closing parts of butterfly valves are disc-shaped knives, which can be opened left and right. They have different characteristics.
First of all, the flow resistance of the
ball valve is very small, which can reduce the damage to the valve due to the resistance, easily sealed under high or low pressure, and quickly opened and closed in case of emergency. Moreover, the sealing performance is also very superior, and the corrosion resistance is better than that of general valves.
The
butterfly valve is very simple in structure, convenient to install, small in volume, capable of closing quickly, and small in flow resistance coefficient.
