U.S. Chemical Production Activity Advanced in January
According to the American Chemistry Council (ACC), the U.S. Chemical Production Regional Index (U.S. CPRI)rose by 0.5% in January, as measured on a three-month moving average (3MMA). This followed a revised 0.4% gain in December and a 0.7% gain in November.
All regions posted growth in January.
Measured on a 3MMA basis,
chemical production was mixed. Production expanded in several chemistry-intensive manufacturing industries, including food and beverages, fabricated metal products, computers, semiconductors, rubber products, structural panels, and textile products.
