What is a butterfly valve?
A butterfly valve is composed of a valve body, a disc, a valve stem, and a handle. It adopts a disc type opening and closing member, the disc is fixed on the valve stem, and the valve rod is rotated 90 degree to complete the opening and closing action. At the same time, a butterfly valve has a throttling characteristic that the flow rate is linear with the opening angle when the valve opening angle is 20-75 degree.
The butterfly valve has two types of sealing: elastic sealing and metal sealing. The sealing ring of flexible sealed valves can be mounted on the valve body or attached to the periphery of the disc. Valves with metal seals generally have a longer life than elastic sealed valves, but are difficult to seal completely. Metal seals can accommodate higher operating temperatures, and elastic seals have temperature-restricted disadvantages.
