A globe valve is used to regulate the flow of the medium, the valve rod axis of the globe valve is perpendicular to the seat sealing surface. It is open by driving the valve core up and down. Once the globe valve is turned on, there is no connection between its seat and disc sealing surface, and it has a very reliable cut-off action, so its sealing surface mechanical wear is small. Because the globe valve seat and disc are easy to repair or replace, there is no need to remove the entire valve from the pipeline when changing sealing parts. This is suitable for applications where valves and pipelines are welded in one place. The flow direction of the medium through the globe valve will change, so the flow resistance of the globe valve is high.
The medium of the globe valve flows from the lower part of the disc to the bottom of the valve flap, which is called usual flowing direction (flowing under the seat), flowing from the upper inflow of the disc is called reverse flowing direction (flow above the seat). The operation of opening the valve is labor-saving while closing needs a great effort.
