Working Principles and Installation of Electric Butterfly Valves

As a component used to realize the opening, closing and flow control of the pipeline system, the electric butterfly valve is more and more widely used in practical applications due to its excellent quality and performance. According to different connections, electric butterfly valves can generally be divided into electric wafer butterfly valves and electric flanged butterfly valves. The sealing materials can be divided into soft seated types (normal temperature and pressure) and hard seated types (high temperature and high pressure). According to the control form, it can be divided into the opening and closing type and adjustment type. The opening and closing type plays the role of switch, the adjustment type is used to regulate the flow, which can accurately adjust the flow rate to a thousand divisions, and is also a kind of valve with a high price.
 


Working Principles
The electric butterfly valve uses electric energy as the driving force. After connecting the electric actuator and the valve stem and adjusting the electric butterfly valve, the electric power is used as the driving force to drive the butterfly valve plate to rotate at angles of 0 to 90°. The electric butterfly valve receives the 4 to 20mA industrial automation control system signal to accurately control the opening of the valve to achieve the adjustment and control of different process parameters such as flow and pressure.
 
Precautions of Installation 
1. Electric butterfly valves are usually installed on horizontal pipelines. If the equipment needs to be tilted horizontally under special circumstances, support is generally required.
2. When the nominal diameter of the selected butterfly valve is different from the process pipe diameter, a different diameter joint should be installed for connection.
3. Try to prevent the equipment from being used in a place with a vibration source, otherwise, the necessary anti-vibration reinforcement measures should be taken.
4 When the equipment is installed, it is necessary to make the direction of the arrow on the valve body point to the direction of the medium.
5. Before the device is installed, the welding slag and other debris in the pipeline should be carefully removed; after the device is installed, the valve core should be at a big opening, and the pipeline and butterfly valve should be cleaned again to prevent debris from getting stuck and damaging the internal pieces.
6. The electric butterfly valve should be in a position that is convenient for maintenance and repair.
7. The outlet piping should be a straight pipe section 3 to 5 times the diameter of the pipe.
