⑴ For mechanical and pressure applications from 1/2″NPS to 4″NPS, A53 Type ERW Grade A pipeline is most common spec. For greater pressures and more critical applications, A106 Type S Grade B is the most common.
★ Requirement: API5L, ASTM A106/A53, DIN2391, ASTM A179/A192, EN10210, EN10208.
★ Product: GR.B, X42, X46, X52, S355J0H, S355J2H, 10#, 20#.
★ Heat treatment: Annealed, Normalized, Tension relieved, Cold completed, Quenched and Tempered.
★ Galvanizing: The average weight of zinc coating shall be not less than 1.8 oz.
★ Shipment Condition: BKS, NBK, BK, BKW, GBK(+A), NBK(+N), BK(+C).
★ Test: Chemical Part Analysis, Mechanical Properties and other assessment.
★ Third Inspection: BV, SGS, Lloyds, etc.
⑵ ASTM A53 Black & Galvanized Pipeline
★ 1/8"-26".
★ Black Lacquer Coat.
★ Galvanizing: The average weight of zinc covering will be not less than 1.8 oz. per sq. ft. of surface area (inside and outside) and not less than 1.6 oz. per sq ft.
★ The weights and measurements furnished under this requirements remain in agreement with the standardized measurements and weights specified in ASME B 36.10.
★ The minimum wall density at any point will not be more than 12.5% under the nominal wall density specified.
★ Allowable Variations in Outside Diameter NPS 11/2″and under: ±1/64″ NPS 2″and over: ±1%.
★ Allowable Variations Weight Per Foot–Pipeline will not vary more than ±10% from the basic specified.
⑶ ASTM A106 Black & Galvanized Pipe
★ 1/8"-24".
★ The weights and measurements furnished under this spec are in contract with the standardized measurements and weights defined in ASME B 36.10.
★ The minimum wall thickness at any point will not be more than 12.5% under the small wall thickness defined.
★ Acceptable Variations in Outside Size NPS 1-1/2″and under: ±1/64″ NPS 2″ and over: ±1%.
★ Acceptable Variations Weight Per Foot – Pipeline will not differ more than ±10% from the conventional defined.
★ Galvanizing: The average weight of zinc covering will be not less than 1.8 oz. per sq. ft. of surface area (inside and outside) and not less than 1.6 oz. per sq ft.
